Applicable to the factory production and design of hot-rolled steel components, cold-formed steel components and their composite components in steel structure residential buildings, the Guide stipulates the coding rules, common cross-section forms and sizes, and connection nodes for the components. At the same time, it can be also applied in beams, columns and braces in steel structure residential buildings as well as components in low-layer cold-formed thin-walled steel structure.
It is understood that the development of steel structure residential buildings is in urgent need of further standardizing the components, strengthening the information communication and cooperation among steel production enterprises, design units and construction enterprises, jointly determining the frequently-used steel components as standardized components, promoting the application of the standardized components in design, production and construction from the source, and replacing customized and small-scale processing with standardized and socialized production.
Formulating the Guide to comprehensively promote the standardization of steel structure components is conducive to comprehensively opening up the design, component production and engineering construction of steel structure residential buildings, establishing a component standardization system, realizing the standardization of component products, and promoting the coordinated development of the whole industry chain; conducive to expanding the market share of steel components of production enterprises, comprehensively improving the efficiency of design units and construction enterprises, and reducing the construction cost of steel structure residential buildings to a certain extent; and conducive to promoting the structural reform on the supply side, pushing the industry towards standardization and scale, and further improving the quality and efficiency of steel structure residential buildings.
