On May 18, 2017, Steel Structure Museum opened to the public for trial operation.
On September 17, 2017, about 70 experts in the steel structure industry who participated in "2016-2017 Working Conference and Academic Exchange Conference of the Expert Committee for China Steel Construction Society" in Shenzhen paid a visit to the Museum.
On January 12, 2018, the opening of Steel Structure Museum was listed in the "Top 10 News of Steel Structure Industry in 2017".
On March 13, 2018, the 20th Annals of Showa Steel Works was donated to Steel Structure Museum.
On May 1, 2018, Steel Structure Museum was approved by Guangdong Provincial Cultural Heritage Administration.
On October 17, 2018, Steel Structure Museum was honored the "Child Friendly Practice Base" of Shenzhen.
On October 31, 2018, Steel Structure Museum was honored the "National Research and Practical Education Base for Primary and Middle School Students" by the Ministry of Education.
On November 2, 2018, Steel Structure Museum finished its trial operation and celebrated its opening ceremony.Its opening time was extended to six days a week.
On November 29, 2018, the promotion events CSCEC Journey of Miracles 1978-2018 came to its 49th stop-Steel Structure Museum.
On December 18, 2018, Steel Structure Museum was elected the first council member of the National Industrial Museum Alliance.
